Spring Cottage was first believed to have been built by church craftsmen in1881. The carvings on the outside of the house and the hand carved staircase and ceiling in the hall still remain to this day.
In the 1950's our family moved here and it was a working farm up until the mid 1990's.
Since 1999 we have been welcoming guests into our home and in 2007 we converted our adjacent barn into 2 Self Catering Cottages called 'Badger's Set' and 'Wren's Nest'.
The house is set in approximately 2 acres of land. We welcome guests to use our summerhouse and gardens as part of their relaxing stay.
The family has close ties with steam traction engines. We currently have a McLaren 4h.p Steam Tractor named "Bluebell" No. 1837 built in 1936 also a Garret 4h.p Steam Showmans Tractor named "Sapphire" No. 33380 built in 1918. Both are exibited at local steam shows and travel to and from them under their own steam.
We are situated within easy walking distance from our local village shop/post office and a traditional English Country Pub serving good food and drink.
There are many pleasant walks in the local area from the village on the doorstep with it's footpaths, quiet roads and village brook to the nature reserves and reservoirs which are all easily accessible.
There are good public bus and taxi services in the area which give good access to all local attractions
